Using modern technologies to monitor and increase process consistency and performance

NNE Pharmaplan open course

Event description

In contrast to traditional pharma, the food industry has been extremely good at adapting emerging technologies to their supply chain since the 1970s. The pharmaceutical business is still lacking behind, but since the promotion of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there has been a flurry of activity across the industry.

This half-day course gives you an introduction to modern technologies such as Process Analytical Technologies (PAT), optical sensor, multivariate statistics and Design of Experiments. The course includes case stories from projects from the food and pharmaceutical industry, regarding implementation and validation of online PAT applications, process optimization and statistical process control (SPC). It also introduced a practical guide and checklist on how to get started as well as guidance for implementation of PAT. The course targets customers who are considering introducing or already have introduced PAT in development and/or production and who need inspiration and technical information and support for further project initiatives.

Course outline:

  • Pharma compared to food/agri industry today
  • Practical examples and projects
  • PAT checklist – how to get started
