Niels Guldager is a senior consultant for bioprocess and technology within the
business development group in NNE Pharmaplan. He is heading the company's biopharmaceuticals design group.
Niels holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark from where he graduated in 1992, specialising in optimisation of bioprocess manufacturing economy and bioprocess control.
Niels started his carrier at Novo Nordisk as production engineer responsible for upstream production of recombinant human insulin. In this role he also facilitated production of clinical batches and manufacturing technology transfer for next generation products. Later he moved on to downstream manufacturing also with Novo Nordisk.
Niels’ focus is process and technology in front-end project activities – current interests are single-use technology and Quality by Design impact on process and facility design. He has a strong ability to capture customer strategy and requirements and transform these inputs into a well-defined process and facility design scope.
Niels is currently engaged in single-use technology community work for industry organisations PDA and ISPE. He is also a member of PDA’s task force for gene and cell based therapies and holds the Certified Pharmaceutical Industry Professional™ certification from ISPE.
